Founded and led by infamous master of black perversion Paul Ledney (drums/vocals), they have purveyed primeval blasphemy for nigh on thirty-three years. Ledney formed the band from the ashes of the rst INCANTATION lineup when he split and took with him all of the members sans John McEntee. That early trio of ex-INCANTATION members reeled o three ground-breaking demos of some of the most extreme and blasphemic metal of its time in rapid succession. The band yers that permeated the tape-trading circuit were no less shocking and featured the trio bloody and naked and in the throes of what was most certainly a primeval summoning of some kind. In short order, they had inked a deal with the edgling Osmose Productions for what became one of that labels rst releases (Osmose release #5); a legendary split with Colombia’s MASACRE. Something so volatile could only last briey, and after another brief recording session the band collapsed under the weight of its own extremity. but the recordings made in this two year window went on to see dozens of reissues in the coming decades, in a testament to how formidable and formative they are to the black metal scene worldwide. After almost fteen years spent with his equally polarizing solo project HAVOHEJ, Ledney reignited the ames of Profanatica in 2006. Reemerging with a new deal from Hells Headbangers, Ledney and his new band released ‘The Enemy of Virtue’, a collection of that vaunted early material, and a new full-length, ‘Profanatitas de Domonatia’. A triumphant return, ‘Profanatitas de Domonatia’ picked up right where these Kings of US Black Metal left o, delivering a savage stream of chainsaw guitars and relentless battery upon which they desecrated everything sacred. This set-in motion another frenetic burst of work for Profanatica. The next decade saw them unleash four new full-length albums of blasphemous perversions, sacrilegious incantations, and furious black metal. In addition, the band issued six mini-albums and EP’s, a full DVD of early footage, and began touring internationally in Europe and in Central and South America. For the rst time Profanatica were appearing near or at the top of the bill at festivals like MDF, Messe Des Mortes, Hells Headbash, Prague Death Mass (Czech Republic), Chaos Descends (Germany), Black Sun (Spain), Tyrant Fest (France), SWR Fest (Portugal) and many more. In fall 2018, Profanatica joined forces with Season of Mist and undertook their biggest tour to date supporting WATAIN and ROTTING CHRIST across Europe. And a year later, the trio vomited forth a most vulgar strain of black metal ejaculate with their SoM debut album ‘Rotting Incarnation of God’. The band embarked on an extensive twelve-country European headline tour in the album’s wake. Shortly after returning home that winter, the world ground to a halt in 2020. Save a live-streaming concert production for the legendary Rock al Parque in conjunction with BATUSHKA, little was heard from Profanatica. That is until spring 2023, when Profanatica emerged from their den of iniquity on a European headline tour to promote a new album. ‘Crux Simplex’ is a ten-track oensive of sin and sacrilege, a nasty aront that bastardizes the rst 10 stations of the cross. As per their legacy, Profanatica deals in bestial, rst-wave black metal barbarity, and their eighth album unveils ungodly levels of bile and blasphemy. SPITER (US) It was but the summer of 2022 when SPITER burst from the fucking grave with their debut album for HELLS HEADBANGERS, Bathe the Babe in Bats’ Blood. Featuring members of labelmates SHITFUCKER and Devil Master, the power-trio made plain - and vulgar - their infernal & infectious True Vampyric Metal Punk: a raw-yet-anthemic blend of cult blackthrash, obscure hardcore punk, and even the wildest deathrock. The album sowed its seeds of sanguine depravity and SPITER took their madness on the road, cementing their cult status immediately. Now, the deviants of SPITER return with a ripping new mini-album, Enter the Gates of Fucking Hell. This six-song / 26-minute recording sees the lineup scaled back to vocalist / guitarist / songwriter Richard Spider (Daemon Bitch of SHITFUCKER) and drummer Snake (Disjawn) - they continue to be a trio for live purposes - and remarkably shows even more fire and focus than that not-inconsiderable debut album. Somehow, those six(-six-six) songs sound shorter and more epic simultaneously, with Spider showing his songwriting chops between wild & winding mania and ghoulish catchiness. The production, in kind, is colder and harsher but clearer and heavier, assaulting the listener with arguably more undead energy than said debut. And then, over before it began, you’re again possessed to press “play” and enter those fucking gates over and over...again, until it fucking hurts. VENERDì 7 Ingresso: Up To You!! //// Riservato soci AICS MARK CUNNINGHAM (US) Started out in No Wave New York with Mars, featured on 'No New York' produced by Brian Eno in 1978, continuing in the 80s in Don King before moving to Barcelona in 1991 to form a series of bands: Raeo, Convolution, Bestia Ferida and now Blood Quartet. Collaborators over the years include Arto Lindsay, Christian Marclay, Pascal Comelade, Etant Donnes and Lydia Lunch. VOLKWERKKFOLLETTO (IT) Volkwerk Folletto è un oscuro collettivo nato con l'intenzione di sovvertire, indispettire e scompaginare, aspirando con l'intensità centripeta di un aspirapolvere elettrico la superficie obliqua della musica contemporanea. Folletto restituisce al rumore un riflesso melodico compresso, ri-codificato da un'elettronica nichelista e spartana. Difficile descrivere le suggestioni di una musica impura per nascita e metodo, e fuorviante per i rimandi alla musica sperimentale, ma anche al post-punk o il folk, aggettivi presenti - ma non determinanti - concepiti in un percorso di elaborazione a ritroso, dalla a-tonalità più esasperata fino alla scoperta di una melodia lineare e siderale. "Caspar Pulver” segna il ritorno su vinile dei VF dopo il disco d'esordio del 2010 che vedeva la collaborazione con il filosofo Toni Negri insieme al pioniere della musica elettronica tedesca Hans Joachim Roedelius dei Cluster. Il nucleo base di Volkwerk Folletto è composto dall’aspirapolverista e artista visivo Andrea Renzini e dall'operatore elettronico e chitarrista Gian Luca Patini, affiancati per questo lavoro da ospiti d'eccezione come Suz alla voce solista nel singolo “ We’ll Be Fine” composta da Justin Bennett, e da Angela Baraldi in “ Zermatt Hassle”. Registrano il primo album "Weekend Martyr" nel 2019 edito da Aloch Dischi e Orfan Records, un album frutto di registrazioni low-fi e dalla produzione in studio di Niccolò Mazzantini (Appaloosa). Disco caratterizzato da un approccio punk e diy dalle sfumature glam rock e acide. Tornano con "Gastrin" album in uscita a gennaio 2024 per Cruel Records e Gigia Booking. Lavoro prodotto da Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle / I Hate My Village) che porta la band in nuove direzioni sonore. Più oscuro e sofferto il disco spazia dalla psichedelia dei '70 fino all'altrernative dei '90 rimanendo però sempre fedele alla matrice post - punk della band. Nel 2025 esce "Young Elvis Lover Known For Being Out Of Control" un EP autoprodotto di 5 brani scritti durante il Tour di "Gastrin" Caratterizzato da un approccio live grezzo e molto punk, il disco viene registrato in presa diretta nella sala prove della band presso Jeebo Recording e mixato in seguito su un vecchio mixer analogico cercando di essere fedele all’attitudine diretta dei brani. Un’autoproduzione volta a fotografare un momento della band. Esce in cassetta per Mostä Records (Nantes). BASEBALL GREGG A quasi un anno dall'uscita del loro ultimo album _Briefs_ , tornà in città la band italo-californiana Baseball Gregg, il collettivo e multinazionale surf pop partorito dall'estro di Luca Lovisetto e Sam Regan. Di pochi mesi fa la loro straordinaria partecipazione al MiAmi 2025 in apertura ai The Pais of Being Pure at Heart. TAB_ULARASA Luca Tanzini ha una molteplice attività in vari settori dell’underground. Che si tratti di musica, di fumetti, collage di video la sua attività raminga e ramificata ha come tratto fondamentale un DIY che è espressione di libertà e consapevolezza e che, in termini mediatici, si traduce in una rocciosa marginalità. You’ll rarely find an artist today so devoted to sound or as deeply immersed in the affective reverberation of old synths. She calls it Post-Wave-Cold-Pop-Acid-Romance, rubbing sonic shoulders with PJ Harvey, DAF, Tempers and Depeche Mode. Jennifer Touch released 2 studio albums via Fat Cat Records, both part of several Best-Of- Lists, alongside interviews and reviews at Metal Mag, MOJO, Uncut, Future Music and DJ Mag. Baritone saxophonist Dana Colley is the through-line between Vapors and “low rock” pioneers Morphine, whose leader Mark Sandman left this earth while performing onstage in Italy in 1999. Vapors of Morphine perform much of the Morphine repertoire, plus new material and original versions of selective covers. They expand on the ethereal, hypnotic sounds popularised by the group in the nineties, and dig into their influences, from African music to delta Blues.The group was formed over a decade ago by Dana Colley, singer and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Lyons and Morphine’s original drummer Jerome Deupree. Drummer Tom Arey (J. Geils Band, Peter Wolfe’s Midnight Ramblers, Ghosts of Jupiter) replaced Deupree in 2019.Their latest album, Fear & Fantasy, represents both a new era and a return to form for Vapors of Morphine. In its often lush arrangement, recalls Morphine’s final album, The Night, where Deupree teamed up with Billy Conway, the drummer who had replaced him; this time Arey plays on one side, Deupree on the other. It only seems fitting when both bands have been blessed with a revolving cast of top-notch percussionists.

Their intent was to create a band that could channel all the teenage distress of being close to forty, through punk rock and rock and roll. Immediately after the first lockdown, HEARTS APART went to the studio with producer and engineer Brown Barcella (Bee Bee Sea, The Peawees) to record these first EP. These tracks have been mastered by Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher). While HEARTS APART is a very young project, its members are very well known veterans from the italian punk scene, coming from bands such as Miss Chain & The Broken Heels, Universal Sex Arena, Il Buio and Phill Reynolds. Also a co-founder of the post-punk band Peter Kernel, Sparksss was born at -27 degrees in Kenora, Ontario, where her childhood was filled with unique experiences—including having a pet bear and a father who flew a floatplane. Her music fuses heavy beats pressed on dubplates, thick synth textures, and cutting vocals, crafting an unmistakable sound. Her debut album For You The Wild (2014) established her as a force in darkwave and experimental electronic music, earning her an opening spot for The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Her follow-up album, Brutal (2019), delved deeper into experimental noise, later remixed in Brutal Remix (2020) by artists like Fakear and Rebeka Warrior. In 2023, she toured extensively as the support act for A Place to Bury Strangers, spanning the UK and Europe. Her boundary-pushing collaborations continued, including a one-hour live composition for Ypsigrock Festival in Sicily with Alec Ounsworth (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) and Eva Geist, which led to the release of The Sound of This Place (2022). That same year, she composed and performed music for Der Besuch der Alten Dame, a theatre production touring across Europe. DLINA VOLNY (BLR) Dlina Volny is a darkwave/post-punk trio originally from Minsk, Belarus, now based in Warsaw and London. The band melds Eastern European post-punk with Western darkwave, crafting a moody, introspective sound driven by haunting vocals that feels both nostalgically familiar and distinctly modern. Their second album, “Dazed”, released on Italians Do It Betterin 2021, was mixed by Dean Hurley and mastered by Mike Bozzi. The band has established a strong presence in Europe, the UK, and Mexico, performing at festivals like ESNS, Kalabalik på Tyrolen, and Grauzone. Their third LP, set for release in spring 2025, promises a darker and more assertive sound, melding elements of industrial, EBM, and cold wave. Dopo essersi aggiudicati l'ottava edizione dell'Homeless Rock Fest pubblicano l'Ep d'esordio, relaborazione di sonorità grunge/crossover anni Novanta infarcite di blues e psichedelia, al quale nel 2020 segue l'omonimo primo album. Nel frattempo il duo viene lanciato in orbita da X-Factor e accolto sotto l'ala protettrice da Manuel Agnelli, che non solo li vuole nella backing band che lo accompagna nel tour solista a supporto di “Ama il prossimo tuo come te stesso”, ma cura la produzione del secondo disco, “Ologenesi”, pubblicato a ottobre 2022, lavoro che segna il passaggio al cantato in italiano. Nonostante i Little Pieces Of Marmelade abbiano trovato nel mezzo televisivo la spinta determinante per lanciarsi verso una certa notorietà, quando si ritrovano in studio fanno di tutto per evitare qualsiasi facile omologazione. Con piglio anticonformista non scelgono strade ben asfaltate, ma optano per sudore e polvere, generando un sound sporco, aggressivo, poco in linea con i compromessi imposti dal mercato. Dal punto di vista dell’impatto visivo ricordano tanto i Black Keys quanto i nostri Bud Spencer Blues Explosion, ma le soluzioni migliori risultano quelle meno prevedibili e più complicate da replicare. In "Ologensi" si ispirano alle distorsioni disturbate e all’atteggiamento generale dei Verdena, alle metriche hip-hop e alle inflessioni vocali dei Beastie Boys, mentre il falsetto di “Canzone 10” è un omaggio al Prince più elettricamente intenso. Non è facile riempire in due tutto lo spazio disponibile, specie dal vivo, ma i ragazzi esondano grazie a talento, tecnica e a un’urgenza post-adolescenziale servita con testi senza censure, costruiti attingendo dal gergo dei loro coetanei. Con alle spalle concerti nelle principali europee e nei più importanti clubs rocknroll/punk la Band continua a macinare chilometri. THE COFFEEKILLERS Band composta da quattro personaggi ben conosciuti nel panorama rock'n'roll italiano composta da Flamin'Gene alla voce e chitarra (the Rock'n'Roll Kamikazes, the Basement Boppers, the Caribbean Delights ) accompagnato da Aurelio Ristuccia chitarra solista, Zimmy Martini (Basement Boppers, Jhonny Clash Project)al contrabbasso e Carlo Berbellini alle pelli (ovvero i the Lucky Strikes). La band propone un rockabilly esplosivo ispirato alle tipiche formazioni pioniere del genere. Il loro show è un cocktail di dinamite e ritmo incalzante davanti al quale è impossibile restare fermi! After almost fteen years spent with his equally polarizing solo project HAVOHEJ, Ledney reignited the ames of Profanatica in 2006. Reemerging with a new deal from Hells Headbangers, Ledney and his new band released ‘The Enemy of Virtue’, a collection of that vaunted early material, and a new full-length, ‘Profanatitas de Domonatia’. A triumphant return, ‘Profanatitas de Domonatia’ picked up right where these Kings of US Black Metal left o, delivering a savage stream of chainsaw guitars and relentless battery upon which they desecrated everything sacred. This set-in motion another frenetic burst of work for Profanatica. The next decade saw them unleash four new full-length albums of blasphemous perversions, sacrilegious incantations, and furious black metal. In addition, the band issued six mini-albums and EP’s, a full DVD of early footage, and began touring internationally in Europe and in Central and South America. For the rst time Profanatica were appearing near or at the top of the bill at festivals like MDF, Messe Des Mortes, Hells Headbash, Prague Death Mass (Czech Republic), Chaos Descends (Germany), Black Sun (Spain), Tyrant Fest (France), SWR Fest (Portugal) and many more. In fall 2018, Profanatica joined forces with Season of Mist and undertook their biggest tour to date supporting WATAIN and ROTTING CHRIST across Europe. And a year later, the trio vomited forth a most vulgar strain of black metal ejaculate with their SoM debut album ‘Rotting Incarnation of God’. The band embarked on an extensive twelve-country European headline tour in the album’s wake. Shortly after returning home that winter, the world ground to a halt in 2020. Save a live-streaming concert production for the legendary Rock al Parque in conjunction with BATUSHKA, little was heard from Profanatica. That is until spring 2023, when Profanatica emerged from their den of iniquity on a European headline tour to promote a new album. ‘Crux Simplex’ is a ten-track oensive of sin and sacrilege, a nasty aront that bastardizes the rst 10 stations of the cross. As per their legacy, Profanatica deals in bestial, rst-wave black metal barbarity, and their eighth album unveils ungodly levels of bile and blasphemy. SPITER (US) It was but the summer of 2022 when SPITER burst from the fucking grave with their debut album for HELLS HEADBANGERS, Bathe the Babe in Bats’ Blood. Featuring members of labelmates SHITFUCKER and Devil Master, the power-trio made plain - and vulgar - their infernal & infectious True Vampyric Metal Punk: a raw-yet-anthemic blend of cult blackthrash, obscure hardcore punk, and even the wildest deathrock. The album sowed its seeds of sanguine depravity and SPITER took their madness on the road, cementing their cult status immediately. Now, the deviants of SPITER return with a ripping new mini-album, Enter the Gates of Fucking Hell. This six-song / 26-minute recording sees the lineup scaled back to vocalist / guitarist / songwriter Richard Spider (Daemon Bitch of SHITFUCKER) and drummer Snake (Disjawn) - they continue to be a trio for live purposes - and remarkably shows even more fire and focus than that not-inconsiderable debut album. Somehow, those six(-six-six) songs sound shorter and more epic simultaneously, with Spider showing his songwriting chops between wild & winding mania and ghoulish catchiness. The production, in kind, is colder and harsher but clearer and heavier, assaulting the listener with arguably more undead energy than said debut. And then, over before it began, you’re again possessed to press “play” and enter those fucking gates over and over...again, until it fucking hurts.

SUFFERING HOUR (US) Suffering Hour are a blackened death metal band from Minnesota. This sound was then further explored on their 2019 EP Dwell, a single 18 minute track proving their unrelenting songwriting prowess. The Cyclic Reckoning was a turning point for the band’s style and has since inspired more experimentation and pushing of conventional boundaries within their respective genre. Sick of not being allowed into clubs – and getting barred from five in one week – because of the way they looked, three brothers and a few friends became a clique known as The Outcasts. Within months, they were one of the hottest bands on the emerging Belfast punk scene. At their first gigs the band was playing a mixture of their own songs and cover versions of songs by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned and The Ramones. And most of the shows ended in some kind of disaster, so the local press dubbed the band 'The band you love to hate' due to their bad boy image. After three studio albums, many 7“s and EPs ( a bunch of them were for the legendary Good Vibrations record label), day time national UK radio airplay, a song in the UK charts, sessions for the famous BBC broadcaster, John Peel, and constant tours in the UK and Europe, the band lost guitar player Getty who had died and in 1985, they split. The Outcasts reformed in 2011, without Colin on drums, to play Rebellion Festival in England. This was the beginning of the new chapter for the two remaining brothers and their two new fellows. The Outcasts are featured in the critically acclaimed and BAFTA nominated movie, Good Vibrations and in an Arte documentary [a popular art TV series made in France], which was shown in 2014 in France, Belgium and Germany; also a number of compilation and live albums have been released, and they have been touring constantly again in the UK, Ireland and across Europe. A musical play at the Belfast Lyric Theatre called ‘Good Vibrations’ is currently showing the band in their teenage years alongside the Undertones and Rudi. In 2019 The Outcasts just released a 4 track EP on vinyl (5 tracks on cd) of new material for the US Record Label Violator Records. Also a double gatefold album of all their singles plus some sessions and live recordings was released by another US Record Label based in Japan. A band that still wants it and gets it. Great to watch live with probably their best years still ahead of them, this band is a legend and a true punkrock unit that wont retire any time soon. DALLA & DJ LUGI Shezan il Ragio nasce a Bologna il 2 aprile 1975 e trascorre a Mazzini gran parte della sua adolescenza. Tra i nove e i quattordici anni inizia dapprima a skateare e dopo ad appassionarsi al writing sotto la guida di validi maestri come B-nut e Ciuffo. Durante lo stesso periodo fonda assieme a Flower una crew di writers-skaters, la Flo.Ra della quale entreranno a far parte anche Cap e Chime Nadir. Il giovane Shezan predilige hip- hop, punkrock, metal, jungle, dub, blues (il tutto in chiave hardcore) ed inizia ad appassionarsi all MCing. Durante le visite ai parenti marchigiani, socializza con la scena senigallese di quel periodo che aveva tra i rappers di punta Fabri Fibra e Lato. Negli anni successivi, dalla fusione di due crew , una bolognese(i Garden's Abitudineri) e una senigalliese(Uomini di mare) nascono i "Qustodi del tempo". Prendono poi vita progetti quali "Di me ti ricordi (rapimento dal vulplà)" e "Dinamite Teste Mobili". Grazie poi, alla permanenza in paesi come Francia e Inghilterra, Shezan il Ragio ha modo di conoscere l'hip hop da più punti di vista e confrontare le diverse realtà. Nel 1995 si appassiona al beatmaking e da' origine nel 2002 al suo primo lavoro da solista che prende il nome di "Randagio Sapiens". Il successivo disco "Sectio Aurea" è interamente autoprodotto e regisrato presso i "Cantieri Shezan" e vanta featuring del calibro di Lord bean, Eos, Claver gold, Hiko, F.n.o. Rubo e altri ancora. DJ LUGI Lugi è un rapper, disc jockey e beatmaker italiano, di origine etiope ma cosentino di adozione. Nel suo percorso musicale nell'hip hop salta subito all'occhio il suo approccio positivo che ha nei confronti della vita, che si riflette anche nella sua musica, un funk melodico e delicato, fatto di strumentali mai pesanti e non troppo cariche di elementi. Il suo rap mischia dialetto calabrese e l'esoticità della sua origine in una miscela che ai più piace. Lugi è un artista che spicca per il suo equilibrio nei lavori in cui è stato impegnato, tra i suoi lavori ci sono le strumentali del disco Italy's Most Wanted dei Flaminio Maphia. Nel 2000, pubblicato dalla Jackpot Records di Neffa, è uscito il suo primo album solista dal titolo Ca'Pu. Nell'LP spiccano brani come Adelante, Funky Per Funky ed il remix di Non C'è Limite Allo Show, il cui brano originale era stato inserito all'interno dell'LP Novecinquanta del DJ Fritz Da Cat. Di origine etiope, il "lugico" Lugi cresce a Cosenza nel quartiere popolare di via Popilia. Per come racconta nei suoi testi Luigi cresce ascoltando e ballando il funky, che ancora oggi è il suo genere musicale preferito, finché negli anni '80 non viene folgorato dai primi echi rap provenienti dall'oltreoceano. Cosenza è una città culturalmente in crescita, per cui aereosol art e breaking non faticano a diffondersi. Cominciano a comparire i primi graffiti sui muri cittadini mentre Dj Louis, così si faceva chiamare all'epoca, si appassiona alla danza non disdegnando però il rap. È il periodo in cui in Italia cominciano a diffondersi le posse e proprio intorno ad un centro sociale, il Gramna, nasce la prima crew rap cittadina: la South Posse. Il gruppo in cui Lugi trova collocazione si distingue dalle altre omologhe, sparse sul territorio nazionale, per via dei testi poco scontati e del suo stile molto travolgente. L'attività della South Posse culmina con la realizzazione di un Lp inciso presso la sala di registrazione del Forte Prenestino a Roma. In 2015, their debut EP Mount Sinai/Aswan caught the eye of Shalosh Cult, a Jerusalem-based label which released their critically acclaimed debut album Exile to Beyn Neharot in 2017. In 2022, their second full-length record “āl bēlūti dārû” (“The Eternal City” in Akkadian language) marks the rise of the band on the doom scene. Mixed by the godfather of doom Billy Anderson (Sleep, Om, Melvins,...), the album led them to a 95-concert tour across Europe and the Middle East. Formed in 2011, they have, since their self-titled demo, merged technical ferocity, alien dissonance, and blackened cosmic atmosphere. With the Butchering Cosmic Giants EP (2013), they caught the attention of Profound Lore Records. Their debut full-length Labyrinth Constellation (2014), shaped under the guidance of Colin Marston, established a dense, cerebral, and claustrophobic sound. Infrared Horizon (2017) expanded their sonic range, tearing through electronic-infused landscapes and crafting new metallic textures. Their latest chapter, the 10-track, 45-minute self titled Artificial Brain (2022), stands as the culmination of a decade-long vision, featuring iconic guest appearances from Mike Browning (Nocturnus) and Luc Lemay (Gorguts) that intensify its sonic atmosphere. The band has appeared at notable festivals such as Maryland Deathfest and Covenant. In recent years they have extensively toured Europe, including performances at Brutal Assault and Frantic Fest, recently joined by Mike Paparo from Inter Arma on vocals and Alex Tolmin from Battlemaster on drums they are ready to come back on European soil supported by Suffering Hour. SUFFERING HOUR (US) Suffering Hour are a blackened death metal band from Minnesota. Their unique sound garnered high acclaim with their 2017 debut record In Passing Ascension, a guitar-driven slab of nihilistic savagery. This sound was then further explored on their 2019 EP Dwell, a single 18 minute track proving their unrelenting songwriting prowess. The Cyclic Reckoning was a turning point for the band’s style and has since inspired more experimentation and pushing of conventional boundaries within their respective genre. Suffering Hour also released a split entitled Time’s Withering Shadow in 2022 alongside Irish death metal giants Malthusian. The band has since played numerous shows and fests across the globe, most notably: Maryland Deathfest, Covenant Montreal/Vancouver, Killtown Deathfest, SWR fest in Portugal plus two European tours. La prima line-up era composta da Steno voce (già bassista di un’altra formazione bolognese, i RAF PUNK), Stiv chitarra, Giulio basso e Davide alla batteria. Il primo gig si tiene al circolo anarchico “C.Bernieri”, dove i Nabat suonano insieme ad altre storiche formazioni delle scena punk bolognese come i già citati RAF Punk, gli Stalag 17, i Bacteria, gli Anna Falks etc.Con la seguente formazione Steno alla voce, Stiv chitarra, UI-UI alla batteria e Abbondante al basso, i Nabat registrano un demo-tape con i concittadini RIP-OFF. La cassetta riscuote, per quanto riguarda i Nabat, un discreto successo. La band comincia a farsi conoscere anche fuori Bologna. Qualche tempo dopo Abbondante lascia il gruppo per unirsi ad una band rockabilly, mentre i Nabat, rimasti in tre, intraprendono con i Soldier Of Fortune un memorabile tour nel sud Italia. Nel 1982, la band registra al Teatro Dehon (uno studio di registrazione di tipo parrocchiale) il primo ed indimenticabile E.P. “Scenderemo nelle Strade” contenente cinque pezzi. Il disco esce nel giugno dello stesso hanno per la loro etichetta la C.A.S. e vende circa 2000 copie (cifra considerevole per l’epoca).Nel frattempo alla band si unisce al basso Riccardo (ex batterista dei Rip Off e dei Bacteria).In poco tempo i Nabat, anche in virtù di una impressionante attività live (circa 90 concerti nel solo 1982), diventano una delle più amate OI! band italiane. Nel 1983, sempre su C.A.S., esce in una lussuosa veste grafica il secondo E.P. “Laida Bologna”. Nello stesso periodo, i Nabat sono tra i protagonisti, nonchè tra i promotori, dei due raduni OI nazionali di Monza e Bologna, ben recensiti dalle fanzine e dalla stampa musicale indipendente.Lo scopo di questi concerti, in cui suonano band Skin e Punk, è quello di superare le divergenze che dividono i due movimenti.“SKIN E PUNK SARANNO UNITI GLI OBBIETTIVI SON COMUNI QUESTI FOTTUTI PERBENISTI” cantano i Nabat e non si può che essere d’ accordo.Da dimenticare invece il terzo ed ultimo raduno Oi di Certaldo (maggio 1983) che finisce tra gli incidenti e le provocazioni di stampo fascista dei Rip Off e di una parte del pubblico.I Nabat inoltre producono, sempre per la C.A.S, due ottime compilation :“Skin+Punk =TNT” E.P. con Nabat, Dioxina, Armm e Rappresaglia e più tardi il LP “Quelli che urlano ancora” con vari gruppi della scena punk e skin italiana tra cui Cani, Klaxon, Basta, UDS, Hydra etc. Quindi nell’ 85, viene pubblicato dopo una lunga attesa il primo L.P. “Un altro giorno di gloria”, grande album con 10 grandi pezzi non solo OI. Alla chitarra c’è Red (ex Dioxina).Il disco è dedicato a Nelson Mandela ed a Martò dei Judas (band bolognese degli anni 60). La band si scioglie nel 1987. Più tardi membri della band suoneranno nella Punk band degli STAB mentre Stiv si unirà con gli Skrewdriver. Ma il 23-1-92 ,in una magica notte, Steno ritorna sul palco ed accompagnato dagli Stab da vita ad un pirotecnico concerto, immortalato sul CD “Live alla morara” edito dalla Twins Records nel 1994. Il disco contine una manciata dei migliori pezzi dei Nabat più una cover di “If the kids are united” degli Sham 69.Nel 1995 i Nabat si riformano in occasione del “TIZIANO ANSALDI BENEFIT TOUR”, da loro stessi organizzato per raccogliere fondi in favore della mamma del loro mitico ex manager scomparso nel 1994. La band si esibisce insieme ai bolognesi Ghetto 84 e ai Klasse Kriminale , prima al Leoncavallo di Milano e poi al Livello 57 di Bologna. Tra il dicembre 95 e gennaio 96 viene registrato “Nati per niente” Cd pubblicato su Banda Bonnot. Dodici pezzi, più una bonus track, potenti e diretti che sono una ulteriore conferma delle capacità della band, diventata nel frattempo un quintetto. Il disco è dedicato a IQBAL MASIH leader dei bambini pakistani, morto assassinato.L’album è stato registrato con la seguente formazione:Steno – voce, Riccardo – chitarra, Romano – chitarra, Abbondante – basso e Toppi – batteria.Agli inizi del 1997 Riccardo Pedrini (chitarrista dei Nabat) ha pubblicato il libro “Skinhead: lo stile della strada” edito da Castelvecchi. Il libro, molto bello, ripercorre la storia del movimento Skinhead, dalle origini fino ad oggi, con particolare riferimento alla scena italiana, e contiene una vasta e dettagliata bibliografia e discografia, nonchè un elenco di siti internet e di fanzine Skinhead.Sempre Riccardo nell’ estate 1998 a pubblicato “Ordigni”, saggio sulla scena punk bolognese dei primi anni ottanta. Nel settembre 1998 è uscito per la Potere Records uno splendido bootleg intitolato “Campane a Stormo” che raccoglie le registrazioni apparse sul primo demo tape della band, due live ed alcuni pezzi tratti principalmente dal primo LP del gruppo bolognese. Purtroppo la band si è definitivamente sciolta nell’Ottobre ’98 alla vigilia di un concerto in terra vicentina in occasione del 1 Festival SHARP Tre Venezie durante il quale però Steno ha improvvisato un mini-gig accompagnato dai alcuni membri dei Los Fastidios. Alcuni anni dopo lo scioglimento Steno ha ripreso a fare musica con un nuovo gruppo di musicisti, che ha preso il nome Laida Bologna Crew proprio dalla canzone simbolo dei Nabat. Altri ex-componenti del gruppo sono attualmente impegnati nel gruppo Punk Rock/Punk & Roll The Stab, le cui sonorità ricordano sia i Clash che il classico Oi! italiano e inglese. Nel 2006 la Laida Bologna Crew si scioglie e Steno decide di riformare ufficialmente i Nabat mantenendo il bassista della Laida Bologna Crew e contattando tre membri degli Uguaglianza, giovane band ligure di cui Steno produsse il primo album l’anno prima. La formazione rimane tutt’ora invariata e con molti concerti all’attivo. Attiva dal 1989, la band esplode letteralmente creando in poco più di un anno due dischi fondamentali per il genere, Wicca e Göetia, veri e propri rituali sonori influenzati da un classico heavy metal dalle distorte vocalità. Il bassista fondatore Beelzeebubth è un grande punto di riferimento per la scena black metal estrema brasiliana, e nonostante i vari cambi di line up, è sempre riuscito a mantenere una certa attitudine bellica, metallica e prepotente sia nella macabra ed occulta estetica sia nella discografia. L’inquietante cult debut album Wicca dal profumo vagamente acre è solo un assaggio di ciò che poi ne seguirà; Göetia infatti ne conserva lo spirito ma presenta nuovi spunti; richiami esoterici, una ‘’qualità’’ migliore ed una sorta di ‘’evoluzione compositiva’’. Gli aspetti peculiari di questo disco sono tanti: in primis la vocalità gutturale/evocativa nuova di Arnaldo Asmodeus che padroneggia in tutto il disco ma soprattutto la strumentazione che è sicuramente più complessa del precedente. Le chitarre hanno suoni migliori e le parti ritmiche sono più atmosferiche. Goetia è sporco e sacrilego, ha quell’anima classica oscura ed ignota che regala alla band ed al disco un fascino misterioso e tetro ancora attuale. I nove canti infernali di questo disco hanno nomi articolati e tanti simboli nascosti, i feroci cinquantasei minuti sono accompagnati da un songwriting arcano ed atmosfere sulfuree. VIGLJOS (SWI) Vigljos is conceptually centred around the practice of medieval beekeeping and is currently experiencing accelerated momentum after the release of their beautifully filmed video for their self titled track, ‘vígljós’. The band, quickly after their inception in 2023, were invited to perform at special events and festivals in Switzerland and Europe including Culthe Festival (DE), Eros at Arms (CH), Skullcrusher (DE), and is set to play another onslaught of increasingly prolific festivals for the remainder of 2024 and into 2025. TULPA (IT) Tulpa is a black metal project founded in 2016 as a form of abreaction stemming from the cyclically repeated trauma of death, rebirth, and decay in samsara. Notably, tracks from Gnaw Their Tongues have been featured on various compilations including Black Industrial Grimoire, Mind the Gap Volume 77, Oaken Throne 6, and The Static Hymnal. It all started in January 2021, when « il signore » Panarisi decided to make the most of « lockdown ». Isolating himself in his studio with his sound engineer, Moorad Agjij, he began working furiously on a lifelong goal he has always wanted to achieve ; recording a solo album in less than a week. The concept is simple : wake up, compose tracks, record them the same day and finish an album in 7 days ; thus the name of the project « One Week/One Record presents Giac Taylor ». From this experience, four albums were recorded, « First Of All ... Fuck You » (January 2021), « Jesus Loves You But I Don't » (March 2021), « Dead Man Shoes » (June 2021) and « The Last Sicilian Standing » (December 2021), the latter being recorded in less than 24 hours. On stage, Giac Taylor is accompanied by experienced musicians and trusted friends, with his first concert taking place in March 2022. They signed with the London-based record label Council Records, an imprint of Johnny Greenwood’s Octatonic label. Their touring cycle for Container was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. Initially intended as a solo/side project, the classic "Cocaine Rodeo" album was recorded that same year, but shelved until the Southern Lord label released it and its unique brand of criminal insanity to widespread acclaim and horror in the summer of 2000. The follow-up, "A Drug Problem That Never Existed," was released jointly in the Summer of 2003 by Ipecac/Rekords Rekords to further critical acclaim. A worldwide tour followed that was chronicled on video for the DVD release "Use Once and Destroy Me". In 2004, Mondo Generator recorded and released "III The EP." Oliveri began a solo acoustic career shortly after, which would see two full releases, "Demolition Day", and 2010's "Death Acoustic." In 2006, Mondo Generator released "Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails" on English label Mother Tongue. It would be released worldwide the following year on Suburban Noize Records. KNARZY L’attività da producer di knarzy inizia in età adolescenziale ma viene ufficialmente inaugurata soltanto nel 2020 con la pubblicazione del brano Aside sotto la storica etichetta di Chicago Trax Records e la pubblicazione del primo disco con il nome di MVMNT EP con l’etichetta indipendente bolognese Timeless Records. Nello stesso anno dà vita anche a un progetto da live performer parallelo a quello da producer intitolato ACIDM, in cui mischia le classiche basslines acid con i ritmi macchinosi dell’IDM. URSULA URSULA Ursula esplora la musica elettronica come un rituale in continua evoluzione, fondendo la fisicità del club con la natura fluida dell'improvvisazione sonora. His style is an amalgamation of supernatural trap intensity, demonic nu-dancehall, and politically-incensed Lugandan poetry exploring violence, religion, or the poverty in the Ugandan slums. Anyone that has the privilege of seeing him live will know what to expect from his feverish flow and his fire-manic presence. The rapper alternates freely between sober truths and hyperactive screams, flipping from bar to bar overs beats by Debmaster, Slikback, and UK producer PQ (Nightmare song) among others. For this tour, Ecko Bazz is joining forces with long time collaborator, Milan-based producer and visual artist STILL (Head of Hundebiss Records, also known for his project Dracula Lewis). Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977. Highly regarded by the music press and their contemporaries, their well-crafted songs, together with Steel and Dangerfield’s love of harmonies, led to them being described as ‘The Beatles of Punk’ but they could (and should) just as deservedly have been compared to the Ramones – fast, alternately brattish and tongue-in-cheek, and gloriously anthemic. As Last FM puts it: “The Boys provided the template for superior Pop Punk before even the Buzzcocks had got out of first gear”. The Boys were born in September 1975 when singer/guitarist Matt Dangerfield left Mick Jones and Tony James’s fledgling punk band London SS to form a new band with ex-Hollywood Brats songwriter/keyboard player Casino Steel. Dangerfield’s art college pal, guitarist Honest John Plain, was quickly recruited. The following year they held auditions for the bass and drum roles with Kid Reid and Jack Black completing the line-up. Matt Dangerfield had converted the tiny disused coal cellar of his rented basement flat in Maida Vale into a home recording studio/rehearsal room and as a consequence, 47A Warrington Crescent became extremely important in the development of the UK punk scene in the mid-seventies. Mick Jones, Glen Matlock, Tony James, Rat Scabies, Brian James, Gene October, Sid Vicious and Billy Idol were regular visitors. Amongst others, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, London SS, Clash, Chelsea, Generation X and of course, The Boys, made their first recordings there. In this hotbed of creativity Steel and Dangerfield quickly forged a prolific songwriting partnership. The Boys made their live debut at London’s Hope and Anchor in October 1976. Mick Jones, Billy Idol, Joe Strummer, Tony James and Gene October were in attendance for The Boys first performance. A mere handful of gigs later, they became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal when NEMS Records snapped them up in January 1977. Having released two albums and three singles with NEMS, they moved to Safari Records in 1979 where two further albums and five more singles followed. Over the years countless bands have covered The Boys’ back catalogue – from Argentina to Germany and Japan to the USA – and even more artists have cited The Boys as a major influence. MARC VALENTINE (UK) As frontman of cult British power-pop outfit Last Great Dreamers, Marc Valentine has brought sparkle to venues and turntables alike with his distinctive vocals, wry charm and songbook of secret classics. Now, with his favourite guitar in tow, he's heading out on a solo adventure, loading his flight case with a fresh set of tunes, and polishing the trademark twinkle in his eye. Debut album Future Obscure sees Valentine building on his past while expanding his sonic palette, to craft a collection of should-be hits – 7-inch-shaped songs that move both body and mind. Valerio Marcellino e Marco Andrea Lippa iniziano il progetto nel 2015 come ambient duo, creando paesaggi sonori tramite l’uso di chitarre, synth ed effetti vocali. Successivamente la line up si completa con l’aggiunta di una sezione ritmica, facendo convergere il sound verso uno stile più orientato al post rock. Nel 2018 la band pubblica il disco d’esordio dal titolo “Oltremare”, che viene accolto positivamente dalla scena Post Rock internazionale, finendo anche nella Top March-April 2018 releases a cura del canale WherePostRockDwells. Oltremare è caratterizzato per lo più da sonorità calme, sognanti, figlie del sound di origine della band. Dopo alcuni cambiamenti di line-up nella sezione ritmica, l’arrivo di Luca Tiraterra alla batteria determina una ulteriore evoluzione nel sound de Il Giardino degli Specchi, conferendo una maggiore dinamicità ed esplosività alle composizioni, pur mantenendo l’impronta che caratterizza la band fin dalle origini. Il 16 Ottobre 2022 esce finalmente il secondo full-length dal titolo “Monstrum”, un disco più ruvido e cupo dei precedenti, che arriva a toccare punte di Post Metal e che raccoglie consensi fin da subito sia negli ascolti digitali che in sede live. Il Giardino degli Specchi ha un ampio range di sonorità che spazia dall’ambient fino ai massicci muri di suono tipici del post rock/post metal, con una predilezione per ritmiche lente, distorsioni vigorose e atmosfere dilatate. ROPES INSIDE A HOLE (IT) Hailing from Bologna, RIAH (Ropes Inside A Hole) plays emotional postmetal. In November 2018 AUTUMNALIA has been published in CD format for the American label Fluttery Records; recorded and mixed by Enrico Baraldi at Vacuum Studio and Waiting Room Studio, with Magnus Linberg working on the mastering. During the next year the band had been busy with the presentation of the album on various stages (Opening for Tides From Nebula, Dumbsaint ) and festivals. During 2019 the live activity continues with the participation at the Bologna’s Krakatoa Fest IIII and a tour in Germany along with the German band Brücken. During 2020 quarantine the band works on the composition of new songs, activity that continues continuously through the next two years and in March 2021 Ropes Inside A Hole take part in a collaboration for a split named RIAHPSTVRT with the Italian band Postvorta, split that contains “Epidermide” the first single with the new line-up. The sophomore album “A Man And His Nature”, will feature external musicians for the cello, the violin, the synth, the saxophone and most important the voice of Daniel Loefgren from Suffocate For Fuck Sake, with which the band is planning to continue the collaboration by making the band a collective between Italy and Sweden. The album produced by dunk!pressing and released by Voice of the Unheard record had an excellent response from the public, becoming the third favorite album by users of the albumoftheyear.com web site in the post metal genre for the year 2023 and Top 10 Best Albums of 2023 for the WherePostRockDwells community. The band played in 2023 and 2024 in France, Germany, Slovenia, Czechoslovakia and Hungary, gaining acclaim from the public. Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977. Highly regarded by the music press and their contemporaries, their well-crafted songs, together with Steel and Dangerfield’s love of harmonies, led to them being described as ‘The Beatles of Punk’ but they could (and should) just as deservedly have been compared to the Ramones – fast, alternately brattish and tongue-in-cheek, and gloriously anthemic. As Last FM puts it: “The Boys provided the template for superior Pop Punk before even the Buzzcocks had got out of first gear”. The Boys were born in September 1975 when singer/guitarist Matt Dangerfield left Mick Jones and Tony James’s fledgling punk band London SS to form a new band with ex-Hollywood Brats songwriter/keyboard player Casino Steel. Dangerfield’s art college pal, guitarist Honest John Plain, was quickly recruited. The following year they held auditions for the bass and drum roles with Kid Reid and Jack Black completing the line-up. Matt Dangerfield had converted the tiny disused coal cellar of his rented basement flat in Maida Vale into a home recording studio/rehearsal room and as a consequence, 47A Warrington Crescent became extremely important in the development of the UK punk scene in the mid-seventies. Mick Jones, Glen Matlock, Tony James, Rat Scabies, Brian James, Gene October, Sid Vicious and Billy Idol were regular visitors. Amongst others, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, London SS, Clash, Chelsea, Generation X and of course, The Boys, made their first recordings there. In this hotbed of creativity Steel and Dangerfield quickly forged a prolific songwriting partnership. The Boys made their live debut at London’s Hope and Anchor in October 1976. Mick Jones, Billy Idol, Joe Strummer, Tony James and Gene October were in attendance for The Boys first performance. A mere handful of gigs later, they became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal when NEMS Records snapped them up in January 1977. Having released two albums and three singles with NEMS, they moved to Safari Records in 1979 where two further albums and five more singles followed. Over the years countless bands have covered The Boys’ back catalogue – from Argentina to Germany and Japan to the USA – and even more artists have cited The Boys as a major influence. Their dynamic and imposing wall of sound, coupled with a driving backbeat, grips through atmospheric strings and haunting vocals. Initially from Long Beach, CA, the band relocated across the United States residing in Buffalo, Los Angeles, and the high-desert of Eastern Oregon. Originally formed by vocalist and bassist, Armand Lance, and violinist, SJ, their line-up has since solidified with the addition of their guitarist, Sean McCormick, and Drummer, Landon Cisneros providing a striking sound described by The Obelisk as lush and ranging, a “languid grunge blasted into outer space in the desert night”. Lead singer and songwriter, Armand Lance, creates the bones of the music in the attic of his rural ranch between cattle working and mustang wrangling - a likeness to his father’s upbringing as an Ecuadorian cowboy. After only 3 weeks of legendary drunkenness and sacred bong worship, the members of Dopethrone had already composed 4 songs and were planning out a concept for an album. A year later, the new album: "Demonsmoke" was materialized. In the spirit of "Do-It-Yourself", The Logo and concept was created by Vincent (guitar - vocals), the recording by Thomas (drummer) and the CD was produced by Vyk (bassist). In 2011 Dopethrone released "Dark Foil" and the followed it in 2012 with "III" both were recorded by Thomas (drummer) and produced by Vyk (bassist). THRONE (IT) THRONE is a blackened sludge doom band formed in 2012 in the swampiest and most remote areas of Italy. They combine crushing riffs with a dark and oppressive atmosphere. In the same year, they released their debut full-length album "Avoid the Light," produced by Moonlight Records. After five years of live shows across Europe, in 2017, they released their second full-length album "Consecrates," produced by Black Bow Records and Endless Winter. This album is more mature, darker, and anti-religious. La proposta musicale è sempre stata caratterizzata da sonorità estreme e da composizioni molto brevi eseguite con chitarra elettrica, archi e batteria elettronica, ma negli anni ha subito una forte evoluzione fino ad arrivare all’Ep Cortina in cui le chitarre sono state sostituite dal violino. Il nuovo album intitolato Bancarotta Morale è un ulteriore passo avanti nella ricerca di sonorità e non usuali ed è la conseguenza naturale di quanto pubblicato fino ad oggi. Le tematiche affrontate sono per lo più riferite ai drammi della vita, al forte contrasto tra l’essere umano e il mondo che lo circonda, ma soprattutto al difficile rapporto tra gli esseri umani stessi. Nel 2015 il progetto è diventato un duo con l’ingresso in formazione di Alessandro Vagnoni come batterista dal vivo e polistrumentista in studio. BOLOGNA VIOLENTA è stato materia d’esame nel corso di Arte digitale all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia e presso la stessa sede è stato anche presentato il progetto The Sound of…, in cui i pezzi di quaranta discografie diverse vengono fatti suonare simultaneamente. Nel 2019 è uscito il documentario Uno Bianca – Mirare allo Stato in cui la colonna sonora è composta da brani tratti dai dischi pubblicati tra il 2010 e il 2016. Nicola Manzan è un violinista, polistrumentista e produttore trevigiano. Ha lavorato in studio e dal vivo con artisti italiani ed internazionali, tra cui Baustelle, Ligabue, Lo Stato Sociale, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Il Teatro degli Orrori, MezzoSangue, Ronin e molti altri. Alessandro Vagnoni è un batterista, polistrumentista e produttore fermano. Ha collaborato in passato con band death metal quali Infernal Poetry, Dark Lunacy, Resurrecturis ed altri progetti. È inoltre batterista della band Ronin, chitarrista e compositore del progetto Bushi, polistrumentista nella one-man-band Drovag e attivo come turnista live e tecnico del suono. Irrompono nell'underground italiano a fine 2021 con il loro primo album autoprodotto, NUOVE BR, che li porta ad esibirsi live prima in Italia e poi in Europa. Definiti dalla stampa "i menestrelli delle Brigate Rosse", in virtù dei loro testi sono attualmente indagati dalla procura di Torino per istigazione a delinquere con l'aggravante di terrorismo (pena massima 8 anni e 4 mesi). La peculiarità del loro caso ha attirato l'attenzione degli studiosi di diritto, del mondo culturale italiano e della stampa internazionale. I tre componenti del gruppo - Astore, jimmy pentothal e YUNG STALIN - rimangono anonimi e si esibiscono con un passamontagna bianco. I loro concerti si distinguono per l'energia della performance e sono stati descritti come "un rito collettivo e liberatorio, dove l'odio represso per violenze istituzionali e strutturali viene trasformato in amore tra compagne e compagni". Il 20 febbraio 2025 annunciano a sorpresa l'uscita da indipendenti del loro secondo disco DITTATURA. LUGI è un rapper, disc jockey e beatmaker italiano, di origine etiope ma cosentino di adozione. Nel suo percorso musicale nell'hip hop salta subito all'occhio il suo approccio positivo che ha nei confronti della vita, che si riflette anche nella sua musica, un funk melodico e delicato, fatto di strumentali mai pesanti e non troppo cariche di elementi. Il suo rap mischia dialetto calabrese e l'esoticità della sua origine in una miscela che ai più piace. Lugi è un artista che spicca per il suo equilibrio nei lavori in cui è stato impegnato, tra i suoi lavori ci sono le strumentali del disco Italy's Most Wanted dei Flaminio Maphia. Nel 2000, pubblicato dalla Jackpot Records di Neffa, è uscito il suo primo album solista dal titolo Ca'Pu. Nell'LP spiccano brani come Adelante, Funky Per Funky ed il remix di Non C'è Limite Allo Show, il cui brano originale era stato inserito all'interno dell'LP Novecinquanta del DJ Fritz Da Cat. Di origine etiope, il "lugico" Lugi cresce a Cosenza nel quartiere popolare di via Popilia. Per come racconta nei suoi testi Luigi cresce ascoltando e ballando il funky, che ancora oggi è il suo genere musicale preferito, finché negli anni '80 non viene folgorato dai primi echi rap provenienti dall'oltreoceano. Cosenza è una città culturalmente in crescita, per cui aereosol art e breaking non faticano a diffondersi. Cominciano a comparire i primi graffiti sui muri cittadini mentre Dj Louis, così si faceva chiamare all'epoca, si appassiona alla danza non disdegnando però il rap. È il periodo in cui in Italia cominciano a diffondersi le posse e proprio intorno ad un centro sociale, il Gramna, nasce la prima crew rap cittadina: la South Posse. Il gruppo in cui Lugi trova collocazione si distingue dalle altre omologhe, sparse sul territorio nazionale, per via dei testi poco scontati e del suo stile molto travolgente.
