UNDERGANG (DK)
UNDERGANG was formed in the summer of 2008 in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark, and was the creation of long needs for creating conservative and brutally heavy death metal, something that wasn't as widespread in the international, and even less national, extreme metal scene at the time. Formed and driven with the passion for the genre and little care for other people's acceptance and interest, the band wrote and recorded what they intended to be their debut album "Indhentet af døden" during the winter of 2008/2009, supported by having played a variety of local shows in the Danish capital region. The debut album eventually got released in January 2010 by the UK based newly founded label Me Saco Un Ojo Records and a little later the Spanish label Xtreem Music, with whom they signed a contract for the first and second album. 2010 and 2011 was spent playing various shows and festivals around Europe and even their first appearance in the US on a 2011 West Coast tour for three weeks around the Chaos in Tejas festival in Austin, Texas. The sophomore album "Til døden os skiller" was released on LP/CD in February 2012 and supported by a European tour the same month and two months later a support job in Brooklyn in New York opening for death metal legends AUTOPSY.
CORPUS OFFAL (US)
The unexpected demise of Cerebral Rot came swiftly after two renowned cult albums. Yet just as expediently, a malodorous new organism arose in its place, Corpus Offal. Still featuring Cerebral Rot’s rancid core of Ian Schwab (guitar / vox) and Clyle Lindstrom (guitar), the Corpus Offal rhythm section of Jason Sachs (bass) and Jesse Shreibman (drums) now summon intensely elevated waves of stomach-churning nausea. After last year’s demo defloration, Corpus Offal presents its self-titled full length erupting like a festering corpse dragged from a midnight sewer; putrid, pulverizing and perversely invigorating.
A bludgeoning autopsy of Death Metal, Gore and Deathgrind, the low-tuned grooves, discordant leads and mid-tempo rumble of Cerebral Rot is evident in tracks like ‘Spinous Forms of Mortal Abhorrence’ and the title-track while setting the bar for a melted transformation into more ghastly liquified forms. The gargling slime vox of Ian Schwab are dangerously radioactive, summoned straight from the sealed basement of a nuked morgue narrating a splatter-fest of morbid poetry, decomposing flesh, absurd experiments, and gruesome transgression. Each song plays out like a medical examiner’s case file crossed with the fevered ramblings of a psychopath—precise in its anatomical horror and repugnant in its bizarre depravity.
Consecrated with an impossibly heavy Billy Anderson production, by the time Corpus Offal reaches its cataclysmic conclusion, you’re left drained, disoriented, and left wondering whether you’ve survived a masterpiece or witnessed the musical equivalent of a snuff film. So enter the crematorium, inhale deeply and be filled with the corporeal intoxication of Corpus Offal’s carnage. This is a sonic slaughterhouse and you’re the carcass.

A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS (US)
Fans all over the globe know: Oliver Ackermann always brings surprises. The singer and guitarist of New York City’s A Place To Bury Strangers has been delighting and astonishing his audience for close to two decades, combining post-punk, noise-rock, shoegaze, psychedelia, and avant-garde music in startling and unexpected ways. As the founder of Death By Audio, creator of signal-scrambling stomp boxes and visionary instrument effects, he’s exported that excitement and invention to other artists who plug into his gear and blow minds. In concert, A Place To Bury Strangers is nothing short of astounding — a shamanistic experience that bathes listeners in glorious sound, crazed left turns, transcendent vibrations, real-time experiments, brilliant breakthroughs.
And just as many of his peers in the New York City underground seem to be slowing down and settling in, Ackermann’s creativity is accelerating. He’s launched a label of his own: Dedstrange, dedicated to advancing the work of sonic renegades worldwide. He’s also refreshed the group’s lineup, adding bassist John Fedowitz and drummer Sandra Fedowitz, and the band has never sounded more current, or more courageous, or more accessibly melodic. The Hologram EP is the first release from the new lineup — and the first on Dedstrange — and it’s no overstatement to say that the reaction has been ecstatic.
Ghettoblaster wrote that the band’s racket outpaced everything to emerge from New York City in the past decade. Brooklyn Vegan praised Ackermann’s “terrific, emotive” singing, and lauded the group’s recent commitment to foregrounding its melodies and lyrics. Pitchfork, Flood, AllMusic: they’ve all lined up to call Hologram an example of the best work of a tireless band with a deep discography and an unquenchable drive to create challenging, unprecedented music. A Place To bury Strangers released their highly anticipated sixth album See Through You February 4, 2022 to on their newly formed label Dedstrange to critical acclaim.
KONTRAVOID (CAN-US)
Kontravoid’s masked mystique has remained for over a decade. Ever since the release of his self-titled LP in 2012, the Canadian-born, Los Angeles-based Cameron Findlay has perfected dark pop with his oeuvre that teeters between the EBM, electro and goth genres. His productions, such as 2019’s “Too Deep” and 2021’s “Faceless,” dive to the most derelict corners of foggy, strobe-lit clubs: there is no choice but to dance. But there is an uncanny softness and obvious songwriting ability to compose heart-wrenching songs that are both captivating and drenched in melancholy—2018’s “Undone” has been a fan favorite since it came out on Berlin’s Fleisch Records.
Onstage, Kontravoid demands the audience’s attention with his powerful performance that balances his specific concoction of harsh beats with his signature bass line rhythmic patterns. He’s toured alongside Boy Harsher, ADULT., Drab Majesty and Hide, and has remixed the likes of Schwefelgelb and Kris Baha. Truly a man of the shadows, Kontravoid is an unparalleled fixture in the dark electronic arena.
