THE NECKS (AUSTRALIA)

The Necks are one of the great cult bands of Australia. Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass) conjure a chemistry together that defies description in orthodox terms.

Featuring lengthy pieces which slowly unravel in the most mesmerising fashion, frequently underpinned by an insistent deep groove, the eighteen albums by The Necks stand up to re-listening time and time again.

The deceptive simplicity of their music throws forth new charms on each hearing. Not entirely avant-garde, nor minimalist, nor ambient, nor jazz, the music of The Necks is possibly unique in the world today.


UZEDA (IT)

Uzeda is an Italian quartet (Giovanna Cacciola on vocals, Raffaele Gulisano on bass, Davide Oliveri on drums, Agostino Tilotta on guitar) that represents one of the most original takes on noise-rock of the 1990s. Out of Colours (A.V. Arts, 1991), Waters (A.V. Arts, 1993) and the four-song EP 4 (Touch and Go, 1995) slowly cemented a style that is both brutal and lyrical, fierce and mercyful, physical and psychological, but never derivative of the American masters of noise-rock.

After 13 years from the last releases, the band with the beloved friend Steve Albini recorded Quocumque Jeceris Stabit released through Overdrive in EU and Temporary Residence in USA.


JOHN DUNCAN (US) & IVAN FU PJEVCEVIC (SRB/IT)

John Duncan's work often addresses issues of power, authority, and control, often involving elements of personal risk and danger. His early works included confrontational performances, public interventions and a number of audio works, many of which incorporated found sounds, shortwave radio signals and field recordings. Over the years, his work has become increasingly focused on spirituality, ritual, and the subconscious mind.

Ivan FU Pjevcevic is a musician, composer graphic artist and audio engineer known for his contributions to experimental and electroacoustic music, often collaborating with avant-garde artists such as John Duncan, playing a significant role in the albums 3NDLSS, Soft Eyes and Lucid Calm, performing on fretless bass, synths and Ondes Martenot.

John Duncan and Ivan FU are presenting for the first time in Europe a preview of their short film DIG. A visual story written in six chapters accompanied by a live soundtrack.

DEAD MEADOW (US)

Dead Meadow’s unique marriage of Sabbath riffs, dreamy layers of guitar-fuzz bliss, and singer Jason Simon’s melodic croon have won over psychedelic pop/rock and stoner rock fans alike. Although the band’s members met while attending all-ages shows in and around Washington, D.C.’s punk/indie scene, the trio draws more of its sound from such classic rock legends as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath. The trio formed in the fall of 1998 with singer/guitarist Simon, bassist Steve Kille, and drummer Mark Laughlin. The three members set out to fuse their love of early-’70s hard rock and ’60s psychedelia into their distinct sound.

They released their eight song debut album in 1999. Within a relatively short period, the D.C. trio received offers to tour with everyone from local D.C. acts like The Make-Up and Fugazi to psychedelic rockers Brian Jonestown Massacre. The much acclaimed debut was quickly followed by 2001’s “Howls from the Hills”, recorded at friend Stephen McCarty’s (who would later join Dead Meadow) grandparent’s farm house in rural Indiana and also released on Tolotta Records.

The band signed with Matador Records in early 2003 and released “Shivering King and Others”. Along with the heavy feel and blues-influenced songs, as found on the previous two records, the band incorporated a more layered and dense sound, and continued in their psychedelic style.

With the addition of long time friend Cory Shane as second guitarist, the band released the much acclaimed “Feathers” LP in 2005 on Matador Records. This record incorporated the heavy sound of Dead Meadow with a somewhat more dreamlike feel and included a great deal of two guitar interplay between Cory and Jason. 2007 saw the band reverting back to a three piece and relocating from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles, CA. “Old Growth”, the fifth studio album was released in 2008 on Matador Records. In 2010 Dead Meadow released a feature length live film and soundtrack, “Three Kings”, that spotlighted their live show and included psychedelic dream sequences that follow a loose storyline.

Stephen McCarty left the band and original drummer Mark Laughlin returned. The group spent a long, patient time self-producing and recording 2013’s epic double-album-length release “Warble Womb”, also released on Xemu records. With the release of the LP “The Nothing they Need” in 2018, Steve and Jason celebrate twenty years of Dead Meadow with eight songs that feature everyone that has been musically involved with the band over the years. The Lockdown of 2020 gave the band some much needed rest from touring though two live records were released.

Throughout 2023 Dead Meadow performed sporadically and began work on a new full length LP for Heavy Psych Sounds Records. The band completed tracking the record in January of 2024 shortly after finding out the terrible news that bass player Steve Kille had been diagnosed with Cancer. Though he began Chemo within a month or so the cancer had progressed too far and was too aggressive to be stopped. Steve Kille passed away on April 14th, 2024 leaving an incredible legacy of utterly unique bass playing, a singular artistic vision, and boundless creativity. Band members, friends, and fans alike were devastated but the outpouring of love for Steve as a musician, friend, and amazing human being was a beautiful thing to see.

Con Bronson Recordings hanno pubblicato due EP e due album, collaborando con artisti come Martin Bisi, Xabier Iriondo, Bruno Dorella, Ottone Pesante e Nicola Manzan. THE VELDT (US)

Emerging from the dynamic music scene of North Carolina in the 1980s, The Veldt crafted a sound that seamlessly melds shoegaze and progressive soul, carving out a distinct niche within the first wave of shoegaze bands worldwide. Their music is a mesmerizing blend of ethereal atmospheres, sultry melodies, and irresistible rhythms, establishing them as a standout presence in the genre.

Drawing from a rich tapestry of influences, The Veldt's music embodies a fusion of emotional depth and daring experimentation. Infused with the soulful resonance of Marvin Gaye, the avant-garde spirit of Sun Ra, and the improvisational brilliance of Pharaoh Sanders, their sonic palette is both profound and boldly innovative.

Rooted in the musical traditions of their upbringing, particularly in the church and southern juke-joints, The Veldt's journey began at a young age. A diverse range of inspirations, including gospel, Motown, and the psychedelic sounds of Pink Floyd shaped their musical evolution.

Following their signing to Capitol Records in 1989, The Veldt embarked on a transformative musical journey. Collaborating with dream-gaze luminary Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins, they began crafting their debut album, 'Illuminated 1989'. Although initially shelved by the label, their subsequent releases, including the acclaimed 'Marigolds' in 1992 and the seminal 'Afrodisiac' in 1994, garnered widespread praise and cemented their place in the shoegaze canon. With “Afrodisiac” ultimately found its way onto Pitchfork’s list of the “Top 50 Shoegaze Albums Ever Released”.

Transitioning briefly to Apollo Heights before reclaiming their original moniker, The Veldt has remained a force of innovation and creativity. Their recent endeavors, including the long-awaited release of 'Illuminated 1989' and their continued exploration of vibrant sonic landscapes, reaffirm their status as pioneers in the genre.

The Veldt's enduring legacy promises to inspire future generations with their boundary-pushing sounds and unwavering artistic vision as they forge ahead.



TREMOURS (US)

TREMOURS formed in Los Angeles in 2021 by the duo of Lauren Andino and Glenn Fryatt. Late night jam sessions in the midst of lockdown uncertainty slowly transformed into TREMOURS creative partnership, driven by the tension between Andino’s hazy, drifting guitars and Fryatt’s urgent, pulsating drums.

South Carolina-born Andino has played with LSD And The Search For God and most recently L.A. Witch as a touring guitarist. Fryatt hails from Portsmouth, England, and has toured as a drummer for artists such as Cherubs, The Montrose Avenue and Ten Benson.

TREMOURS sees them each newly harnessing and exploring their own creative impulses, inspired by everything from shoegaze to jazz to electronica to literature to looking out at the sea. “Most of our songs center around loneliness. Not necessarily sadness, but the comfort that you can find in being lonely,” says Andino. “It’s when I feel most calm.”

Fragments is the much-anticipated debut album from Los Angeles based shoegaze dreampop duo. The album is being released in the US by Portland shoegaze/psych label, Little Cloud Records, home of The Dandy Warhols, Elephant Stone, and The Veldt.

WHORES. (US)

Formed in 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia, WHORES. has established themselves as one of the most successful and motivated bands in the noise-rock genre today. Elements of Helmet, Melvins, and the Amphetamine Reptile roster can be heard throughout their catalog, but Whores. are no regurgitated throwback act. Through intense, cathartic live performances and the perfected aggressive tenacity present on their recordings, the band has gained a fervent following sure to do nothing but grow in the years to come.


HELP (US)

HELP’s moto; Remove fear from decision making.Act in defiant joy. Refuse to dominate others. Do not hoard the giftsof the universe. The future is uncertain. Ends don’t justify means. Solidarity now. Clas war now.

Formed in 2018 by Ryan Neighbors (Guitar/vocals), Morty(bas),and Bim Ditson (drums), the members of HELP spent the previous decade or so in more restrained bands. Ditson with grinding indie rockers AndAndAnd, Neighbors with alt-pop dynamos Portugal. The Man and with his electronic project Hustle and Drone. And Morty, Morty has been around the track once or twice.

With Help, they are retrieving the punk roots each member had put down in their teens. They are ripping these ams back open to see what’s really inside.

“Everyone is angry,” says Neighbors, “Make some art about it.”
