Emerging from the early-'80s post-punk underground and sometimes categorized as industrial due to associations with bands like Skinny Puppy, the group's music is nearly impossible to pin down, drawing from Krautrock, ambient, folk, synth pop, and numerous other styles. The Dots' music is by turns melodic pop and exotic psychedelia, with classical influences, sampling, and relentlessly dark, violent, apocalyptic lyrics. Ka-Spel's rhotacistic vocals are instantly recognizable, and somewhat resemble a cross between Syd Barrett and Coil's John Balance. DJ TRIX DJ Trix, nome d'arte di Sergio Migani (classe 1970), è un DJ italiano, originario di Taranto e di stanza a Bologna. Gestisce il negozio di abbigliamento Trix Shop, nonché l'omonima etichetta indipendente. Negli anni ‘90 ha creato, all'interno del centro sociale bolognese Livello 57, la Zona Dopa, uno spazio e serata musicale dedicati unicamente alla cultura hip hop. Negli anni '00 ha partecipato all'organizzazione del 2theBeat, manifestazione musicale di freestyle. Gestisce a Bologna il negozio Trix Shop, che vende abbigliamento, dischi e articoli per il writing. DJ LUGI Di origine etiope ma cosentino d’adozione, il rapper, produttore e disc-jockey, Dj Lugi è considerato uno dei fondatori della scena rap/hip-hop italiana e soprattutto calabrese. A Cosenza inizia la sua esperienza con i South posse, prima, e la Minamò , dopo, negli anni ’80-‘90. Lo stile funky e le metriche precise fanno ben presto di Dj Lugi un riferimento per originalità e positività. Diventa ospite costante nei dischi dei maggiori rapper italiani, tra cui Neffa in “Messaggeri della Dopa”, nel ‘96, e “107 elementi”, nel ‘98; su “Novecinquanta” del produttore, Fritz da Cat nel ‘99 e, nello stesso anno, collabora sia come rapper che come Beat-Maker alla produzione, postuma, del disco di Joe Cassano, “Dio Lodato”. È solo nel 2000, però, dopo essersi trasferito a Bologna (dove risiede tuttora), che finalmente realizza il suo primo disco solista “Ca’Pù”, uscito per la Jackpot Recods di Neffa. Recentemente ha prodotto il suo secondo album solista “Lugibello e Lugifero”, nel 2008, in collaborazione con Dj Tib. Il rapporto di collaborazione nasce nel ‘04-’05 con la fondazione della Funky Vag Crew e le famose serate al “ Vag 61” di Bologna assieme ad altri dj del luogo tra cui anche Cripto. Oltre i continui rapporti di collaborazione con molti artisti della scena reggae/hip hop italiano, nel dicembre del ‘09 insieme a un gruppo di rapper, beat maker e dj calabresi realizza “Bidimucchinescia” ep. Sempre nello stesso periodo inizia la collaborazione con Audioplate Records, tramite la costante frequentazione dello “Studio 61”, con cui sono in cantiere nuovi testi e nuovi beats perché….. “Non c’è limite allo show”. Il gruppo esplora le connessioni tra improvvisazione non idiomatica e nuovi territori di ricerca sonora, sviluppando un immaginario dove l’arcaico si intreccia con il post-umano e simbolismi apocalittici evocano un ritorno alle origini. Con Haou Nebout gli antichi Egizi identificavano un misterioso arcipelago di isole situate nel cuore dell'oceano. Un luogo mitico, perduto e sommerso come Atlantide, che avrebbe costretto i suoi abitanti, “i popoli del mare” ad un perpetuo vagare. In un parallelismo con questo mito arcaico, il trio Haou Nebout immagina un futuro di rinascita in cui le rovine della civiltà post-capitalista, sommerse e inghiottite nel fango, emergono come terreno fertile per un nuovo inizio. In questo scenario distopico, tra le macerie e i frammenti di un mondo tecnologico decaduto, il gruppo trova la propria identità: un antroposfera che risorge dalle rovine, dove strumenti elettronici sepolti vengono riscoperti e trasformati. La musica diventa atto rituale come fondamento per ricostruire comunità e cultura, ristabilendo un legame profondo con la natura e creando un senso di appartenenza in un mondo devastato. In questa prospettiva, la musica si trasforma in un nuovo linguaggio: una forma di comunicazione immediata, collettiva e condivisa.
